Employee Benefit Firm Expands Alaska Presence

The LifeBalance Program -- an employee benefit company that works to promote health through sports, recreation and cultural activities -- has added 4,500 members in Alaska.

LifeBalance signed AGC of Alaska, a nonprofit construction trade association consisting of general contractors, subcontractors and industry professionals dedicated to improving the professional standards of the construction industry.

The LifeBalance Program broke into Alaska in January 2005 after entering a business relationship with the Providence Health System of Alaska. Shortly thereafter the LifeBalance Program landed an account with PeaceHealth, solidifying its presence in the state.

LifeBalance has seen a 400 percent growth in program membership since it began in 1996, bringing membership enrollment to over 350,000 throughout Alaska, Oregon and Washington.

The LifeBalance Program will provide members of AGC of Alaska access to exclusive events, discounts and benefits with over 1,500 recreational and cultural businesses and organizations.

The LifeBalance Program is the flagship product of Absolute Recreation Management Inc., a privately held company headquartered in Portland. The company was founded in 1996 and its programs are sold to businesses as employer-sponsored employee benefits. Programs are also bundled into health plan offerings or association plan offerings as a wellness component.

The LifeBalance Program currently has 1,000 clients, including Providence Health Plan, Associated General Contractors, Xenium Resources, Providence Health System and PeaceHealth.
